The Federal Government needs revenue (funding) to carry out its business, Constitutional Mandates.
Currently the Federal Government obtains this revenue primarily through income taxation. Income taxation is primarily imposed on individuals. Yes, there is corporate income taxation, however, all corporations must pass that cost along to its customers in the price of its products and services. The great bulk of Federal Revenue is from individual income taxation.
There is an alternative.
Consider a taxation on consumption; the more you consume (spend to purchase things and services) the more you are taxed. He who spends more (like on luxury items), pays more taxes. [It's called the National Retail Sales tax to REPLACE ALL federal income taxation.]
